A Thought To Live By

"You could stand with a little impracticality, I think. Your springs seem to be wound a little too tightly. Besides, the past is over, and if you think on it too closely, you either get lost in the misery of things done poorly, or get tangled up patting yourself on the back for the things you did well-which no longer matter, because they're in the past, anyway.

The future, however, is still to come-and it's always fun to look forward to the good events, as well as have an opportunity to plan for the bad"

-The Cartographer of Lost Places, "Here There Be Dragons"

Women of God

"Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. We have enough vanity; we need more virtue. We have enough popularity; we need more purity."- Margaret D. Nadauld, "The Joy of Womanhood," Ensign, Nov. 2000, 14

"Be a Quality Person", By Elder Marvin J. Ashton

Certainly when we choose the good part, regardless of our current situation, life will be lived to the fullest. A quality life is God's greatest wish for us. Life is to be lived well in whatever circumstances we find ourselves. There should not be a waiting period.

What makes up a quality person:
1) If you have self-respect...you will not compromise you standards or beliefs
2) A quality person is someone with integrity
3) A quality person will not be offended. In life there is no time for being hurt. There should be no time to be petty. A wise person will focus on principles of optimism and hope.
4) A quality person will develop the capacity to love and be lovable.
5) A quality person will murmur not.
6) A qualioty person is one who has real faith.

Brothers and sisters, regroup, if that's what is needed. Do not wait. Rather fill your life with service, education, personality development, love for all, and other such meaningful traits. Live purpose each day.

To be in control of your life, to be a sucess regardless of your situation as a single, I recommend you come to know your Father in Heaven. Come to love Him. Always remember that he loves you and will give you guidance and support if you will but give Him a chance. Include Him in your decision making. Include Him in your hearaches and heartbreakes. Include Him when you take inventory of your personal worth.
