King Size or Snack Size!

Let me start off by saying we are all human!

Into I go....

If you have followed my blog at all you would able to quickly see that I have spent the last year in an on again off again relationship. (Trust me I never ever thought I would find my self in this position. And I doubt they ever really work out. OK maybe 90% dont.)

Last week was a little bit hard in the relationship area.

Jared stopped by my house on Monday to hang out and talk. The general idea was this...

Jared told me:
-That I am crazy to break up when he meets 90% of what I want my dream guy to be. (Let me just add in that the missing piece would be church commitment and well thats huge and way out weighs everything else. He just doesnt get that.)
- That he knows I will come to my senses and realize we are ment to be together and that he doesnt plan to move on for awhile to give me a chance to come to my senses.

My end result....I was just mad, frustrated and having to deal with a broken heart again.

But how does this all relate. Easy....My week we all ready and emotional wreck. I was feeling hurt and lonely and wanted things to be different. And when I was feeling down I got to go to a bridal shower. Yep thats right. Its kind of like rubbing salt into the wounds. (Ok Ill admit the shower was fun, just hard.)

On Sunday I found my self at a point were I was wondering if I was doing the right thing by breaking up with Jared. Even though Heavenly Father had pretty much come short of hitting me over the head with a bat while telling me to break up. I may have known the choice was right but the hurt and loneliness was enough to make me go back. (I think that is how on again off again relationships come about.)

Well our lesson in relief society was what I needed to hear. It was on the conference talk "Preserving the Hearts Mighty Change." The teacher told a story about her seminary class. Her teacher had hidden a snack snickers bar in the class when one student was in the hall. The class was then asked to guide the student to the candy. While they were playing hot and cold the teacher him self was giving different directions. Well a battle broke out between teacher and students. The student listened to the class and found the candy. After the teacher showed that he was guiding the student to an even better King Size Candy Bar. The teacher related this experience to listening to the world or chossing to stand by God, the teacher. If we learn to listen to God he will direct us to the best reward.

Our teacher then told us to her own struggles with and on again off again relationships that has lasted for years. She told of how each time she gets lonely she is tempted to go back to him, marry him and settle for the snack size candy bar. She then told of how God promised her the King Size amazing husband!

I thought about this my self and knew in my heart that if I choose to stand by God and hold out for the King Size Candy bar, aka the really good guy, we will be blessed. God will stand by us.

I think the second thing that struck me hard in the lesson. Was how she explained the hardest thing in life is choosing to be lonely while we wait for the king size candy bar. She then suggested there may be an even harder thing....learning to be at peace and be still allowing God to spend time with us, refining us while we wait for the answers to our prayers to come.

What A Blog Post!

Ok I figure its about time I actually update my blog.

March was a way crazy month for me!!

My parents were kind enough to fly me out to New York to visit Michael while he was out there training for his job. (One nice thing about being unemployed I get unlimited time to play. Yea I know one day it will end.)

So highlights of my New York Trip:
- Time with Michael
- Tried fancy restaurants, though I am a fan of comfort food with in good prices. Fancy restaurants are good once in awhile but a while trip worth. A little much.
- Lots of fun shopping! And I stayed with in my budget. I had fun checking out Century 21, designer stores, Saks, Barneys and other fun stores. I even checked out a Designer Sample Sale!!
- I got to finally see New York tourists spots, I just had to go to NYC twice to get to them. I saw Ellis Island, Statue of Liberty, the Friends Appartment Building, Mangolias Bakery, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Square, Ground Zero,Times Square, and Central Park, The Natural History Musuam, The Met, and the Moma

End results of NYC:
-Cute clothes
-And I have set a goal to save and buy a Juicy Couture Purse. It will be my first purchase as a congrats on getting a job. They are so pretty!!

My Annual Trip to Moab! Yep I ran the Canyonlands Half Marathon again. Did ok on the race. Checked out some cool new hikes! Loved a fun weekend with my dad.

Lost Lessons of Soccer

So I havent played official organized soccer in probably 8 years. I have played pick up games here and there but nothing full on. I joined an indoor team, made up from the fabulous people in my singles ward. Last night was the first game I played in (haha I missed the first team game). There are many lessons about me and soccer I learned last night. Not sure how I forgot them.

They are:
- Taking out guys twice your size is way fun
- Soccer uses much different muscles the running (ouch is what I said this morning)
- You can be afraid of being hit or hitting people, balls, walls, etc.
- Reffs dont always know what their talking about
- Team sports are easier with a coach
- Subbing is nice
- Girls can take out guys
- Guys should not back off on taking out girls, sorry but I think thats wimpy and sexest (dont ask)
- There is no need for appologies on the field
- Random bruises show up all the time when playing soccer
- Defense is the best!!
- Much, much more

#1 LESSON:
I am overly competitive!! When I get mad its hard to back down. When a player seems tuff I cant help but take them out.

Man I love soccer!!

- A fun trip to Park City with Friends
- Leaving my job
- Being called as an FHE group leader

- Running the Wasatch Back with my friends in the ward
- Buying my new fabulous bike!
- Wining several races
- Running in several races (what would I do without running?)

- An amazing girls trip to San Diego with my mom and Heidi
- Came down with funny illnesses
- Had my first crown...never again

....Ok so maybe its been a great year, just a hard month

Onto a better year in 2010

So I Thought I Could Blog....Obviously Not

So that was a funny dream to think I could blog on a regular basis. I think daily may be overkill for me so I am going to step and try weekly.

Recently I have found my myself facing a lot of changes in life. Such as:
- Becoming unemployed
- Once and for all ending my relationship with Jared (silly that it took us nine months to figure things out.

But its all for the best. Lately I have felt in a huge rut and didnt know why, how I got there or how to get out. Honest I am not sure the answers to any of those questions.

All I know is this:
- I need to make the changes in my life that allow me to get back to being, the things I did when I felt the best. Hence my 2010 goals.
- Right now I am 95% sure going back to school is the best option
- I have come to learn I deserve the best when it comes to relationships. I deserve to date someone who will treat me like the daughter of God that I am and that can help establish a family based on the church and love of and in Christ.

Ill keep up to date and how life pans out.
