The Western Caribbean Honeymoon Cruise....Day 5 Lamanie Mayan Ruins Belize

Day 5 was one of the days I had been looking forward to the most. We visited Belize City, Belize. Lets be honest I have always wanted to go to Belize so its why I choose this cruise. I have to say Belize it self was a let down. It was a little scary, impoverished and small. However, our excursion to the Lamani Mayan Ruins was so worth it. And they where why I wanted to go. Well and to run into a Jaguar, that just didnt happen.

Once we tendered into port we headed out to visit the Lamani Mayan Ruins. We took an hour long bus ride. On the ride our tour guide taught us all the history of Belize. After the bus ride we boarded a boat for an hour ride up river. We were able to see a Mennonite Colony, lots of birds, howler monkeys, bats and almost a crocodile (it skirted back in the water right as we got to it.) Once we arrived at the Lamani ruins we were feed a Belezian Creol Meal. After lunch we headed out to the ruins. We were fortunate enough to climb to the top of one. To get an idea of how tall it was it was higher then the tree canopy line.
